1. Ayat and Commentary on Surah Al-e-Imran (3:31)
Let us first read the ayat from Surah Al-e-Imran:
Say351 (O Our Apostle Muhammad!) “If ye do love God, then follow me, God will love you and forgive you your sins; Verily, God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Holy Qur’an 3:31
Here is an excerpt from the footnote for ayat 3:31 from S. V. Mir Ahmed Ali’s translation:
Vr. 31. (351) Love of God has to be proved by the faithful following of the Holy Prophet. Only when we follow the Holy Prophet, God will love us and forgive our sins. … The love of the Holy Prophet means the love of God and living a godly life following the footsteps of the Holy Prophet and the Ahlul-Bait in the day to day life. (Thus):
S. V. Mir Ahmed Ali. 1995. The Holy Qur’an. Second Edition. p-.270-271
- A true lover of God and the Holy Prophet will naturally be God-minded and be devoted to the Holy Prophet and the Ahlul-Bait, ever mindful of the life after death.
- True love will be constantly impelling the individual to be always trying to do something to please God and the Holy Ones.
- A sincere lover of God and the Holy Prophet will naturally be always attached to the Holy Prophet and the Ahlul-Bait and remain away from the ungodly ones, be they his own kith and kin.
2. Commentary on Ayats 2:165 and 3:31
Here is an excerpt from Ayat 2:16
…But believers are stauncher in (their) love for God..
Holy Qur’an 2:165
Let us study the the following wisdom:
O the light of my eyes! Study the blessed words of verse (2:165) carefully: “And those who believe are strongest in love for Allah.” The Holy Quran also says that love for God is not possible directly, it is possible only through the Prophet (3:31) and the real love for the Prophet according to the indication of the sound Ahadith is possible through the love for the ahl-i-bait. Thus in verse (2:165): “And those who believe are strongest in love for Allah” is the mention of friendship and love for God, the Prophet and the Imam with which the people of faith are blessed.

3. Heavenly Love
Let us reflect on the following teaching of Noor Mowlana Sultan Muhammad Shah (a.s.):
“It is incumbent upon man to have love for God in his heart. How intoxicated man remains in worldly love and how much trouble and restlessness he feels! Man must have love for God thousands of times greater than worldly love. The light of God dwells in your heart. You should try to increase it day by day through love.” (farman of Hazrat Mawlana Sultan Muhammad Shah, a.s.).

4. Heavenly Love and Spiritual Advancement
Let us study the purpose of heavenly love::
O my spiritual brothers and sisters! Congratulations for having ardent love for the one light! May you progress so much in knowledge, ibadat, humility, supplication, service, good manners and love for light, that the veil may be lifted for you and you may have luminous didar and gradually experience the first, the second and the third annihilations and then may you be enriched with everlasting wealth of knowledge and recognition.

5. Dua-e-Qunut
Here is a deeper meaning of Dua-e-Qunut which will recited nine times in Idd Namaz:
