Imamat is Necessary in Every Age and Time

Ya Ali Madad. On the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of our beloved NOOR Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini’s (a.s.) accession to the masnat of Imamat, we extend our heartfelt felicitations to global Jamat.
On this day, may Noor Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini Hazar Imam, the 49th direct lineal descendant of the Holy Prophet (s.a.s.), grant peace, prosperity, happiness, barakat, higher spiritual enlightenment, spiritual & luminous tayid (help) and empowerment to the global Jamat as we go through this difficult period. Ameen.
Allâhumâ salli alâ Muhammadin wa âle Muhammad (O Allah! Bestow Peace on and through Muhammad and his Descendants).
Explanation of Ayat 17:71
Footnote 1245
The Book mentioned here is the record of one’s own deeds accompanying every individual which shall be manifest in a visible form on the Day of Judgment.
Footnote 1245, S. V. Mir Ahmed Ali, p.905
‘Imam’, i.e., Guide. It is said that, whosoever, an individual follows in his life, will be called to account for his faith and deeds on the Day of Judgment. Blessed are they who follow the best Guides—the Holy Ahlul-Bait, the purified ones of God. When the verse was revealed, people asked the Holy Prophet if he was not the Imam of all the people. The Holy Prophet said; “Yes, I am the Imam until I am alive in this world; and after me the Imam will be Ali-ibne-Abi-Taleb, followed by his divinely chosen issues. People attached to them will be safe and shall gain salvation, and those who go astray and disassociate themselves from them, will be lost.”
Hamid al-Din al-Kirmani’s Insight
God has spoken of ‘The day we shall summon all peoples with their Imams’ [17:71]. But, if in every era and time, there were not an imam and the earth were to be without one, even though people successively come into existence, the statement of God would be a lie. It is impossible to imagine that the words of God are a lie. Thus, is essential that there be an imam for every age in whose name God summons his people. Hence Imamat is necessary.
